Goals for the day: 

The first goal is to give everyone the basic understanding of linoblock printmaking from beginning sketches to transferring the image to carving. Finally, we will be inking the blocks and using the printing press. The second goal will be to demonstrate how printmaking can be done at home without the use of a printing press. Participants should bring a sketch that will be transferred onto a 4”x 6” block either, landscape of portrait configuration.

• The image itself 

• Transferring an image to the block 

• Carving tools and carving techniques 

• Registering a block and paper for printing 

• Different papers 

• Several relief printing techniques such as 1-3 block color layers, Chine Colle and, reduction printing. A 4”x 6” linoleum block 

• If you have carving tools please bring them otherwise, ones will be provided. 

• Various papers
