Monotype Printing with water soluble Pastels
with Solange Roberdeau
July 11th, 10am-2:30pm
8 participants
$135
Discover the joy and immediacy of monotype printing using richly pigmented Caran d’Ache water-soluble pastels and the etching press! This all-levels workshop offers a welcoming introduction to creating colorful one-of-a-kind prints through direct drawing and traditional printing techniques.

We’ll work on clear 5 x 7" plexiglass plates, which makes it easy to use reference imagery - participants are encouraged to bring photographs or drawings to trace directly through the plate. Or, find a quiet spot on the grounds and sketch on your plate en plein air for a landscape-inspired print.

Participants will each receive a set of materials to take home, including water-soluble pastels, two sheets of rosaspina fabriano printmaking paper, and a plexiglass monotype plate for continued experimentation.

Bring a sack lunch before heading up the hill. The workshop takes place on the beautiful grounds of the Abbey Foundation, overlooking the Anderson Valley - an inspiring setting for a day of creative exploration.

Payment is made directly to the artist. To register or to contact the artist with any questions about the workshop, please email Solange at sbroberdeau@gmail.com
